07. Managers Report |
1. Plant shut
down March 28 after last game played.
Redline Refrigeration has done annual shut down of ammonia
system. Some work to be done at start
up includes changing oil on both ammonia compressors, cleaning the oil collars,
changing 3 relief valves on oil pots and receiver drum. Standard preventative maintenance. 2. Ice machine blades
have been shipped to Dr. Saw in Winnipeg for sharpening. Ice paint has been ordered for new
season. Jet Ice tanks have been
ordered for the fall. We will build
the ice with the existing tanks and change over before painting. All ice has melted and paint pushed into
header trenches. Header trench will
need to be cleaned out this summer when everything is dry. 3. Pro shop
orders and final year end inventories are in the process of completion. 4. Summer
rentals at this point- April -2/May-2/June-0/July 0/August 2. 2016 Canadian Police Championships Dale Hockley has
been granted approval to host the 2016 Canadian Police Championships at our
club either in the last week of March or the first week of April 2016. The past 2 years clubs have been donating
their ice time for this event which requires 8 days of ice time. With some juggling around of year end
bonspiel schedules we would be able to run this during the last week of March
along with interleague play and Drain the Keg night. The staffing costs would be relatively the
same, perhaps a little higher, as would the hydro costs during this
week. Although the club has not done
a donation of ice time for such a big event we have hosted high school and
playdown events with no ice fees being charged and I definitely wouldnt like
to see this become a regular occurrence of donated ice for playdowns or
charity events. The increased bar and
food sales during this week of normally empty daytime may cover any costs
associated with hosting this event.
The community exposure of hosting a National Event such as this may
bode well with the City in our upcoming negotiations. If we decide to host this I would suggest
another year away from hosting anything for Curl BC |
|
08. Rocks n Rings |
Wendi advised that she will be doing this for Curl BC for one more
year and that they will need to recruit.
She will still be available to do this on behalf of our Club as we own
the Rocks and the club now owns a portable rink. |
|

|
|
09.3 Finance/Treasurer
& Revenue Generation - other income includes 7500 from BC Hydro, Chwk Foundations & Masters 3000 - Seems to be low on bonspiels by 17,000. Bruce advised there is still some posting to do which should clear that up - repairs down - admin expense is up in advertising by 1500 - Bar & Pro shop slightly down but league fees up - no gaming grant too cash rich .
It was moved by Lenneke and 2nd by Larry that we Restrict $100,000 for Land/Buildings and $20,000 for Future capital acquisitions.
