04.     Old Business

04.1 TV Screens.  The router is different and may need a new one.  Larry to purchase TV’s when that is sorted.

04.3 Rock Engraving and Sponsorship

04.4 ATM Machine – will cost about $3000.00 for installation and training.  Some host companies charge a fee and others don’t.

04.5 Board Member Resignation and Replacement

Nominations presented – Rob Garf and Bree Hankins.

Silent vote majority for Bree Hankins.

Larry moved & 2nd by Wendi to destroy the ballots.          Carried

 

 

05.  New Business

05.1 Drain the Keg Date – currently scheduled for March 29th which is Good Friday.  Larry will email membership to get their view on finishing a week early (15th) and then Drain the Keg on March 22nd.

05.2 Chilliwack Fair Update – Wendi reported that it was well received and we should be able to use Rocks n’ Rings at other events to promote our sport.

 

06.     Curl BC Report

Dave reported that there was an emergency meeting in July which he did not attend as his email notice arrived after the fact.

 

 

 

 

07.     Manager’s Report

- everything going pretty good.

- plant is up and running.

- compressor one lost oil – being re-done - $3000 approximate cost

- Hydro Pole – another issue with Phase 3 and burnt out motor in

           Compressor two.  Bruce contacting Hydro for compensation.

           This put us a few days behind but working hard to catch up.

- New rocks here.  Old ones boxed and ready to ship back.

- James went to Ice Tech course last week and now has Level 1.

- Pro shop stuff should be arriving next week.

- Mot leagues looking good – still need a few more teams

- Bruce has asked various media to attend clinic

- Ken Popove, City Councilor, curling this year

- Glen Ringdal (Chwk Chiefs) wants to curl as well.

                Needs a team placement

- Leisure ad coming out next week.

- checked into grant application – no news yet.

- Will address stones grant in September

- transferred savings to get a better rate

- Sponsorship cheques coming in.

07.4 Bonspiels & Leagues

- 1 draw Friday night at the moment

- Sept 14th – ice Breaker Spiel and maybe a dance on 15th

- Party in the Park a success

- maybe do a Groupon coupon in fall after clinic

– Back to one day – Tuesdays – Starting oct 9th
