BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

MINUTES

January 18th, 2010

President Larry Legault called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

Ten Directors were present. No quorum present for Dec. meeting.

Minutes:

Motion:

Moved by Chris Godwin seconded by Neil Sulkers

The minutes of the Nov. 23^rd meeting be approved as reviewed. Carried.

- No business arising from minutes.

Correspondence:

- None

Old Business:

- Discussion concerning sending teams to the Dominion Club Challenge.

- Will promote within club to ensure interest before entry fees are paid.

- Inter Club Championships to be played March 23rd-26^th.

New Business:

- Discussion concerning inappropriate behaviour of member.

- Letter sent to member advising he is on probation.

Treasurer’s Report:

- Financial report was handed out and reviewed.

The Treasurer’s report be accepted as reviewed. Carried.

Manager’s Report:

- Over the Xmas break floors were cleaned and waxed, ice maintenance done.

- Ice Technician, Jayson Gill’s evaluation was done. He has been encouraged to apply

for the job for next season.

- Head Ice Tech job has been posted on CurlBC website. Deadline March 15,2010.

- ICBC bonspiel was held last weekend, 16 teams over a 2 day format.

Shuttle bus was available. Thanks to Bruce for driving the bus.

- Busy second half of season coming up.

- Thanks to Larry Legault for managing the club while I was away.

- Thanks to the Board for bonuses given.

- List of tentative dates to be ready for next meeting.

Committee Reports:

Building/Facility Enhancement:

- More work, tiling has been done in the washrooms.

Finance:

- None

Ice Conditions:

- There has been a noticeable difference in ice, better.

Management Structure:

- No report

Membership Recruitment/Retention:

Membership requests be accepted for Linda Walther, Doug Rollheiser, Russell Weiss and

Debbie Ormandy. Carried.

Programs and Services:

Juniors/clinics:

- Juvenile Girl’s and Boy’s teams advanced to the semi finals in Zone Playdowns. There was a very high level of play.

- 3 teams advance to High School Provinicials, to be held at our club.

- Clinic held Jan. 9^th. There were 8 participants.

- Will wait until next season to change day for junior curling program.

Bonspiels:

- Skins Spiel was held. 10 teams over 2 day format. To consider date change for next season. A small profit was made.

- Chilli Spiel this weekend. 29 teams to date.

Social:

- New Year’s Eve dance a success. 113 tickets sold.

- Next events are Drain the Keg, March 26^th. The golf tournament, date still to be set.
