BOARD
OF DIRECTORS MEETING
March 3rd,
2008
President Dick Allan
called the regular meeting of the Board of Directors to order at 7:00 pm on
March 3rd, 2008. Twelve
directors were present.
Minutes:
Minutes of the February meeting were
reviewed.
- Moved by Larry LeGault, seconded by Dale Morgan the
February minutes be adopted. Carried.
Correspondence:

Letter from Liquor Control concerning
change in policy allowing minors to
attend
banquets and award ceremonies in licensed establishments. On approval
of
club manager minors can stay until 10:00 pm.
Treasurer’s Report:
-
No report
Manager’s Report: Bruce Renwick
- There were 3 doors and 6 windows broken on March 2.
- Dargatz fixed the doors Sunday morning and will return to
the remaining ones.
- Cost for repair is approx. $2500. With insurance
deductible at $1000. A claim has been processed.
- Notices for proposed new leagues are posted in entryway.
Encourage members to
have a look.

Returning entries for leagues for next
season have gone up. Post dated cheques
are required by August 15th to hold a
spot.

Friday night league is down after
Christmas. May have to run it in two
halves
next year.
Note on the sign up sheet to see if there is interest in this has been
posted.

Spring Mixed, March 14-16 has 25 entries so
far. Bar help needed.

by Jamie Newton, seconded by Jane Adam the money from the
redeemed membership certificate of Al Nuyts be given to the
juniors.

Junior Curling and
Clinics:
- High
schools are this week in North Vanc. Girl’s and Boy’s teams participating.
Old Business:

St. John’s first aid course, min. 8 people,
$100. per person, 1 day course.

Should take course in the fall, club to pay
for cost.
New Business:

Banners are here, to be hung up.

Employee contracts to be revised.

Optimist calendar fundraiser, club not
responsible to sell.

Curl BC Region 11 meeting Feb. 17th
in Langley.

Pool ideas on how to run a successful
bonspiel.

mixed.

Proposal:
Region 11 tour. $5 per team.
Men’s. Each club to host event. 16
team
championship bonspiel.
