Goal: TO IMPROVE MEMBERSHIP RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION

Objectives:

In order of priority:

  1. Develop Membership Team including Board & League Representatives
  2. Identify Focus Groups for Recruitment Activities in areas of need
    1. Conduct interviews with new curlers, seasonal surveys, exit interviews and have a buddy or mentor for new curlers.
    2. Establish membership targets for leagues and age groups, particularly teens and the 20-40 age group.  Speak to high schools, college, and other clubs.
    3. Target other sports or clubs for partnerships – softball, baseball, lacrosse.
  3. Identify methods to actively approach these groups
    1. Develop a member recruit a member program with an established reward and clear description of responsibilities.
    2. Conduct recruitment drive in March and April with advertising of events and clinics through local media and CCC’s website.
    3. Take advantage 2010 Olympics to promote curling in our club.
  4. Ensure that methods are utilized and recruiting activities are carried out
  5. Assess results and revise methods as needed
  6. Introduce potential members to CCC and available opportunities (in springtime if possible)
  7. Develop structured curling clinic for new members (mentors)
  8. Ease new members into curling with special events in the fall
  9. Follow up with new members to ensure satisfaction
  10. Ensure potential vacancies identified in the springtime
  11. Conduct exit interviews to identify issues
  12. Determine needs for recruitment activities
